I just watched the Ubisoft Forward event and I can't help but have a ton of different emotions. As a very long time fan of the series reveals like Mirage and Hexe got me extremely excited. Mirage showed a plethora of gameplay mechanics us classic fans have been searching for since Unity. But at the same time, one gaming franchise showing off three triple A (AAA) titles, a mobile game, and briefly speaking on a Netflix show can be concerning.
This franchise is very important to me and although I'm excited I'm also nervous. I want it to return to its roots but I can't help but feel like Mirage is just……well a mirage. I'm on board for now and have to admit the entire trailer got me hyped up. But my emotional reaction is still unclear. I go back and forth every second and need more context to be content. I have hopes for the narrative direction of the franchise and the gameplay mechanics to follow.
If you are a fan of the series I'd love to get your input outside of just how awesome the cinematic trailer was. Ubisoft did it again. They got me hooked. But the lack of gameplay is concerning and I will remain in the middle. Hopeful yet optimistic.
It was a question to be put before Black Flag. We all know where it went. To shit. Graphics is pretty much all that is left of it.
Interesting. In short I would say I need to see gameplay to be convinced at the same time I don't expect it to bring many new things except it being a modern AC unity style game taking advantage of current gen features. But again we will see when the final product comes. Love them going back to the roots though.
