Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma

Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma Platforms: Nintendo switch, PS4, Xbox one, Series X(Back compat), PS5 (Back Compat) Release date:3 June 2008 Developer:Team Ninja Publisher:Tecmo

Graphics

Since I am playing the remastered versions I don't think there's a huge step up in visuals. The framerate remains faithfully solid to the already clear visuals. Not much to mention here but just that it look's really good still.

Gameplay

Largely identical again to the first game however with a better improvement to character movement and combat feel, its less forgiving and more reasonable even with boss fights. It's the best aspect of the game as you have a myriad of interesting combos that you will forget in a minute and be saved by button mashing which is the best alternative to cramming the various combo button sequence.

Story Since it's a sequel it kept the pace going and within the confines of what the game is about. I just dont like the mix between the modern city and ninja world I would have preferred it stayed in the former than coming to the city. I would love for these games not to be remastered again but rather have a new modern ninja game, something as a continuation of these games. Ninja games are something I am not seeing even with Assassins Creed games. The only major Japanese lore setting game was in the samurai universe (Ghost of Tsushima). I prefer ninjas more than samurai so yeah hopping for that.

Pros

great gameplay and visuals to date

cons

Story setting is a bit offsetting
