Batman: Return to Arkham

Arkham Asylum:

Developer: Rocksteady Studios

Platform: PS4, Xbox One

Release date:2016

Graphics

I have been enjoying this on a Series X and while there is no magic to expect from the Series X apart from having the assurance that you are not playing it on last gen hardware its basically the same remaster with an Auto HDR toggle in your Xbox Series X menu. As far as I can recall these options can only be toggled on Xbox Series consoles. That aside it looks really good and stable and while I cant measure whether it be 60 or 30fps apart from checking on google it does look and play 60fps without a doubt I would be lost for words if that's a stable 30fps. The beauty of better hardware is that you lock more on the prescribed performance target and I must say I never had problems thus far, nothing distracting and noticeable. Overall the graphics though aged and very much last gen they are presentable.

Gameplay

Its obviously the best part about the game and feels more impactful even more than Arkham knight. Each blow landed feels like a shot on target landed at the right spot a real beat them up I must say, with the feel of impact emphasized. Feel free to check out our gameplay clips on our YouTube game clips playlist and compare with Arkham knight you will definitely see a difference not much but its there.

Story

Having The Joker and Bruce Wayne's wit is always the best part about the Batman universe and that just makes a fun thrilling story mixed with some darkness as well. I cant complain apart from the fact that its all happening on Asylum. Its a story that's taken straight from the spine of what Batman is all about so even as a fan, a returning fan or a first timer its worth it.

As a remaster of the original 2009 release Return to Arkham Asylum is a very solid satisfying revamped code from the original games of 2009 and 2011 (Arkham City) respectively. They are worth your time and I shall soon chat about Arkham City as i am still enjoying reliving the world of Asylum.
