You obviously may have have seen a tone of reviews on this and it's been out for two years now but for me it was my first time and so far while I am still playing it and enjoying this is what I think:
Graphics
The game was plagued by glitches upon release and as a result widespread negative media reviews but as a first time player now it all seems like a myth. Shout out to a friend and colleague Aasif for gifting me this as a Christmas gift. There's one thing that CDPR games do so well for me and that's character models. They are just exceptional probably the best in video gaming in my opinion. Each character is distinct unique, interesting and relevant.
Attention to detail is there and proper voice acting too. This game is very much hardware dependent, the better the hardware you have the better it looks. It's also one of the most demanding visually with RT on.
I prefer to play it with RT, it's obviously not best if you prefer performance mode smoothness and image responsiveness but personally I want to see detail. RT helps with the obvious, bounce light realism, the environment presentation and everything within each scene is correctly represented. RT (Raytracing) affects the entire aspect of what you see in a game scene down to the color details and shades too. I can confirm visual bugs don't exist and if they do it could be that one time situation to remind you that the game is still a video game. I did encounter one part where Jackie walked through our car like a hologram but for me it was forgivable as it was not the norm but an exception. Also we need to bear in mind that nowadays video games are always undergoing software patches so what another reviewer found out a year or so ago is most probably none existent by now. In short this game delivers.
Gameplay
Very much acceptable, plays mostly like your normal fps shooter games but definitely your experience is defined by how far you can can mode your character. And speaking of modes that's what makes the game and gameplay shine. You do whatever you want to establish a certain character response pattern. If you don't mode you will struggle of course with tougher enemies. With that highlighted much attention to modding your character is required here. Overall gameplay is smooth, fun no complaints but two things though, first the car controls are difficult more like Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. The cars feel realistically heavy as they should but it can push you to the limits if you are a racing fan like me who plays GT7. Its not bad at all, just was a bit weird for me.
Secondly and a major gripe I have is that it is strictly in 1st person excerpt driving around the city. Immersion for me is on the contrary 3rd person. I really dnt like 1st person experiences but I can tolerate, in any case it doesn't ruin the experience just a matter of personal preference on my end.
Story
One game that stands out in my entire gaming life is the Witcher 3 and CDPR added on by giving me another best game experience through a beautiful none medieval but futuristic experience through Cyberpunk. It easily up there with the Witcher 3 for me. It's in its own universe not trying to imitate our modern world but a futuristic one. This is the heart and spine of why you should play this game.
Addictive and captivating, you just wont stop you keep playing and every quest is relevant to the main story and character progression. I have to say CDPR are wizards when it comes to video game story execution I've zero complaints in this department but praises. You have to give this game a try for yourself. Apart from me writing this try to at times ignore social media evaluations by playing it for yourself and formulating your own opinion about it. Positive reviews on the game are on the rise by the way so not so much of the release bashing it got. Had it not been for its poor glitchy release I think GOTY 2020 should have been this game.
Enjoy your holidays
Pros Beautiful graphics Exceptional story
Cons Strictly 1stperson experience.
