Disappointing Issues happening in gaming

Alright I just want to complain a bit so give me some space. I am not going to mention what you already don't know but I am just going to open up on stuff stifling my gaming experience.

Game developers

With all due respect dev's are needed and are special people for gamers BUT I just want to swing the bat on the recent poorly released projects I have both seen and heard of. Remember I am fully aware that its not only the dev's but there is management, stakeholders and a variety of factors I do not even know about but the basic premise of what drives this business industry can be to some degree accurately articulated in relation to what entails general business practice. There is a lot to mention but I want to run with one example.

But before I do firstly I want to highlight that there is a mass production of relevant hardware that is barely living up its entire lifecycle in the PC space. We do know the PC space is exponential however it has opened up the door for greed among the silicon producers in that they keep pumping the market with various hardware iterations claiming one is better than the previous but in reality there is minimum gain on the price to performance ratio only when spending more for top tier gpus which at the same time are rather being utilised by botched up broken games through filling up the vram, texture issues etc. For example when Last of Us launched on PC the RTX4090 was basically failing to easily show its power grunt in comparison to the PS5, check out old video below from Digital Foundry:

By the way I highly recommend channels like Digital Foundry, Gamer Nexus, Jayz two Cents etc if you want proper detail on video game and hardware performance issues. I did not consult DF for this but thought to share with you as one of the best examples to what I am being long winded at. So DF obviously did another video after this answering whether or not the game was eventually fixed. So what I am I trying to say: The Turing gpus are very much on par and at times better than PS5 and SX/S on a gpu level but you find that PS5 can easily handle Last of Us on release whereas the best on the market RTX4090 Last of Us version on PC was pathetic upon release. How such projects get pushed and approved is beyond me. Last of Us is a great game by the way its not the game I am after here but how it was released badly on PC. There are others like Gotham Knights which sucks also on PC, by tanking your vram and horrible performance.

Yes games get patched but that should not be the norm to ship bad products to a consumer, at least keep the bugs minimal and less distracting than obvious while you fix after release cause no video game is perfect and no code is perfect we know that. So if say an RTX2060 or RTX2070 gpu is on par with PS5 why then the rushed need for Ampere and Lovelace gpus when the older ones can still carry out the task? If you look at the differences between Lovelace and Ampere they are not really convincing within the midrange sphere excerpt for frame generation so why keep stacking gen on gen? The issue here is we as consumers are constantly chasing and buying hardware that's not even needed but the marketing machine together with greedy investment and gpu manufacturers keep telling you that you are behind. If you have an RTX 2080 you are even ahead of current gen console hardware in terms of GPU performance however GPU companies like AMD and Nvidia which I like to call ngreedia keep pushing a narrative that we have made something even better for you but the generation does not require even an RTX3090. If you think of the RTX3090 is it even obsolete when its several times better than any console you need help.

Remember most video games are designed with the console in mind even though they are made also for the PC and can scale better there, the baseline expectation of how the game will look is console recommended.

I have much to say but this is one topic I just wanted to quickly throw out there. Share your thoughts if you feel like but all this is kind of making me feel like slowing down on gaming.

cheers.
