Fable II on Series X: Reminiscing

Fable 2 Platforms: Xbox one, Xbox 360,xbox cloud , Xbox Series X(back compat),(not on PC) Release date 21 October 2008 Developer Lion head Studios Graphics

It's a big step up to fable 1 in terms of character definition. Both NPCs, protagonist and environment don't look like dolls anymore but rather progressed in the way the for example the grass, it moves around as you walk onto it as opposed to just the green color surface you get in the first game.

The only slight set back I saw was that for some reason the game seems to have heavy aliasing in a way compared to the first which makes the overall image look less appealing than the first which was smooth to look at.

Gameplay

It's good but I can't help but think the framerate is capped to 30 as opposed to the first which was 60. Please check the following link to substantiate what I have just mentioned as I do not test video game performance metrics: https://www.windowscentral.com/xbox-fps-boost

So with that said I think the first fable plays better than this fable which is locked to 30fps.Sad to not that the Xbox fps boost project wasn't applied here and speaking of that I think it is abandoned which is a shame. There were licensing issues and other technical back end stuff which stalled the whole fps boost endeavor. For console players this would have been the best initiative to go back to your old library and tweak it up to play it the way it could have felt best on console.

Story Stays with the fable identity and pacing. I can't complain about it except the sacrificial mission which to me was unnecessary cruelty. The story is a bit slow in terms of pacing compared to the first but it's still fine. I think the story is more solid than the first, less simple more dark and adventurous.

Pros Characters more defined

Cons 30fps
